I was perspiring profusely, and running like a mad dog in an enclosed area. I was desperate, I had to find it before dusk. I searched high and low. I strained my eyes and looked around ,hoping against hope that I can catch a glimpse of that shiny object. I was running as fast as my legs could carry me, in search of that precious object.

As I was running, I was deep in thought. My late grandfather gave me his shiny sliver wristwatch. And it was the only object that reminds me of him. Without it, my memories of him would be vague. I went to the nearest bench and sat down, staring into blank space. He was on the hospital bed he could barely speak. He gulped in air and left me with his last few words,” Take care of it, I’m passing this down to you. It’s my family heirloom and it’s priceless.” He then handed me the watch. I watched him fall into a motionless sleep. I told myself, I had to find it, and I would. All I had to do was to retrace my steps.

I went everywhere, but I could not find it. There was only one option left for me, and it was to go home and face the music. I went home sobbing to my mother. I told her what had happened . She did not reprimand me, but she was calm and still. She grinned at me and said” It’s okay, as long as you’re worried about it. I know you can’t bear to lose your grandfather’s prized possession that was passed down by his ancestors, but what’s done is done. It can’t be undone.” After I heard what she had to say, I felt a sense of relieve as she did not blamed me. She understood, it was my nature to misplace things easily.

It was a nerve-wrecking experience I went through the whole afternoon. I seriously regret misplacing the watch. From now on, I’ve learnt to treasure what I have with me right now.

An incident when I was caught in a storm

Big cauliflower clouds were boiling up and hovering above me. Thunder boomed in the distance. I looked up and realized something was wildly wrong . There was an earsplitting crack, and the air filled with screams. Some of my own. It was bizarre as I heard that it was supposed to be a sunny day.

Then it started, the raindrops touched my face-it was cold and brought an eerie feeling. Then it exploded on me in a chaos of wind, water and noise. I was drenched with icy cold raindrops. I searched high and low, finally I found somewhere where I can shelter myself from the pouring rain.

I counted the lighting strikes to distract my mind from the cold, pain and terror. My body bent by the shelter into an agonizing, painful position, I waited in the darkness wondering how much longer will this storm take to ease.

confessions of a kakorrhaphiophobic
I was on my knees .Tears streaked down my cheeks and I found it hard to breathe. Everyone was crowding around me with their eyes fixed on me. It was embarassing and I was seething with anger. My coach asked me if I was alright and whether I wanted to go to the toilet. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me, i went into the largest cubicle out of the three to force myself to cry all the tears out. I went back , my coach asked me to sit at one side as I was too stressed up. I fought against the anger surging within and forced a stiff smile onto my face. I wanted to play.
I can’t resist not playing, I wanted to prove. I wanted to prove to the others that I can play. I tried again, again, and again, My hardwork was in vain. It was hopeless, I was quaking with terror, hoping against hope that I can play.
When i was at home, i sat by the window and stared at the cauliflower clouds that were boiling up. They were going to cry for me, my sorrows. Badminton is my one and only sport that i can ever care so much for. If i could not prove myself in the upcoming tornament, all my hardwork, sweat and pain will be gone to waste. I will be doing the best i can tomorrow.

An Interesting Incident That Happened During The Holidays.

During the holidays, i went to Korea for 8 days with my family. The flight was 6hours long,it was super boring as there was no television. The only thing that i had done to kill time was to sleep. We landed at last, after that we went to collect our lugguage and headed to where our tour guide was. Once i stepped out of the airport, it was freezing cold. The tempreture was minus 10 degrees. Mist came out of my mouth when i was talking, and that was cool. After all that, we took the tour bus and headed off to EverLand,an amusement park. It was crowded as the Korean kids school holidays had just started. Then we headed off to the airport to take a short flight to Jeju Island, had dinner and celebrated my brithday with a small Chirstmas cake. The next day we headed to the Dragon Head Stone, Miracle Road. Had black pork barbeque for lunch, it was delicious! We then had a tour around a Korean village, then went to the waterfall(i forgot the name) it was very windy and cold. Went to the Teddy Bear museum, there were a lot of cute bears there. Here is a picture:

We took an areoplane back to Seoul then next day. After the one hour flight,we headed for the Kimchi School. Kimchi is a side dish that all Koreans love to eat, its preserved cabbage with chili paste. They eat different Kimchi's each month. We learnt how to make Kimchi there and learn more about it.We went shopping in Korea's "orchard road" it was 10 times crowded there then in Orchard Road. We bought an ice-cream it was HUGE, and it cant possibly melt in this type of tempreture. We went to Lotte World, another amusement park. It was definately way much better then EverLand. By the way, Stairway To Heaven-a famous Korean drama, was flimed there. The next day ,we had a 2 hour ride to YongPyong. This is my favourite part of the holiday, i get to see snow and get to go skiing. Skiing was super fun, i enjoyed it. The next day, is where i see REAL snow. We took a cable car to the top of the hill. It was white and glittering when the sun shone onto the snow. The scenery was breathtaking. My brothers and I played snowball fight and even bulit a snowman! After all the fun, we went to the National Park, nothing much there but a BIG buddha statue. Then we went to the so called "hotsprings" actually, it is a very very BIG and wonderful swimming complex. There is indoors and outdoor, it was amazing. I will like to go there everyday if i had that chance. The next day, we went to a old Korean palace. The structure was simple and spacious. Then, we went to Nami Island, where Winter Sonata was flimed. If we went there during summer, there will be leaves still hanging onto the trees and it will be beautiful. The next day, we went to the ginseng and Hwachang duty free shop before we headed off to the airport to say goodbye to Korea. Once again, i had to endure 6 hours of torment in the aeroplane. Fianlly, we reached Singapore. I really miss my hometown no matter where i go.
